battery problem

Default battery problem

hey i have my 1990 ef hatch. i have a problem with the battery light it is on all the time. i have change battery with a new one but still same problem. does any one know what it could be?

check to see if your alternator is charging - should be 13-14 volts, charging ( vehicle running)

what if the alternator is new as well? i just change it today as well cuz i had warranty on it. but still the same.

check the wiring from the alternator to the + terminal of the battery. Make sure there is a secure connection, and there is no corrosion. If you do not have the proper equipment to check the conditon of the charging system, then I would recommend taking your vehicle to someone that does. There is only so much you could do or check, without a multimeter, or midtronics tester.

i agree.. sounds like the return from the alt to the battery is not secure,. or corroded to where power does not flow.. i had a ground cable like that on a ford pickup.. was corroded down the whole cable.. replaced it and treuck would start.. neat concept huh
