Default NASA Northeast Lime Rock Park November 9th

Anyone here going? I think registration is full but I might go just to hang out since I have some extra vacation days.

There is a PDA event as well at LRP this Saturday November 4th.

if i recall correctly the price of this event has increased significantly. In talking with some R-speeders at Summit a month or two ago it sounded as if the usual "crew" who attends this even is not going.

As for Expo 7, please take in to consideration the course. You are paying for VIR *FULL*. That course is very hard to book, and very expensive to do so. Besdies the track cost, you must realize they must pay for the corner workers, pa system, pa announcer, emergency medical/fire units, track attendants, insurance, etc.

For this Expo, you are getting way more than you are paying for. If you want the best bang-for-the-buck event, EXPO 7 is it.

Don't come then. And keep statements like this off the forums. The Expo is planned and coordinated by members of the ITR community and there is no profit turned as a result of the event. It's for ITR community members.

VIR is a very expensive track and if you don't want to drive it then you don't have to pay for it.

VIR is truly unbelievable and IMO, is well worth the money. The facilities are gorgeous, the track is flowing with LOTS of elevation change, and the technique needed to drive consistently well there is something that keeps me going back every chance I get.

In other words, I'm still trying to drive consistently well there

That's just one of the several reasons many of us aren't attending. A couple of us took the whole season off, some of us have fancy drop tops and no roll bars and All of us regardless of what we do for a living have remarked in shock at the rates at which the NASANE/PDA event prices skyrocketed over the last year.

But the prices of driving at the tracks in the NE aren't dictated by the club alone. Mostly the tracks themselves. Watkins Glen and Limerock aren't cheap places to drive.

Limerock and VIR full are apples and oranges. Even Watkins Glen and VIR full are still different fruit.

absofuckinglutely!!!

PS some clubs have volunteer corner workers. Albeit in NY I'm, sure there's some union contract negotiation thing that requires paying off a fat guy named Vito that smokes cigars, wears too many gold chains, too much cologne and drives a pimped out Escalade

I couldn't respect you more for that. I want you to take a few laps with me for certain then.

PS since NASA and PDA joined up, the events have sold out months earlier than in past years. Picture the March LRP dates selling out the day after registration opened on January 1st and this LRP November event, one I haven't missed in the 5 seasons since I started doing this silly stuff sold out in August, another They used to send out emails to andvanced drivers and instructors the weeks before events in years past, but to date I've only recieved 1 of those this season. So I guess the "club" we were a part of just grew up super fast aftrer the marriage and filled any vacancies that many late registrants used to get in the past.

I'd be happy to, but I need to find a passenger seat then I suppose

I'm really looking forward to my first expo weekend since Gingerman 2002. It has been too long.

I meant you ride with me actually. I could use a few pointers on that course.

awesome

what was the price this time around? its not listed on the site any longer.

and as mentioned already, Expo is an exception to the rule. Ill try to attend no matter where it is or how much it costs (within reason ). and VIR full looks like an amazing track and worth the money/experience.

Ahh, memories!

We NEED to have a reunion next season. I think Expo should be the spot. Definitely get Texas Daves HoWdY *** there too, no excuses.

Oh and I still have lotsa storage in Dads yard for casualties if need be. But hopefully need won't be.

Bah. It's all Ryans (DC5) fault. You should see the video.

Kyle, if you went off with Ryan, it must have been the instructors fault... I never had one of my students go off

(runs and ducks for cover).

I am seriously thinking of going and instructing at Expo... racing is too expensive and at most I can do is 2 races next year... a 3rd track day would be a blast, especially at one of my favorite tracks.

I left myself completely open for that one. Damnit. I guess I've learned how to instruct from the best of the best (at suggesting bad ideas) ...

Even if I can't get a rollbar installed in time, I plan to head down for some Expo fun.

Anton I assume your Dad's is nearby? This would be most excellent as I expect my car to most likely pop a motor lol

My ideas are always great.... ask Oscar.... an Evo should be able to brake at the 2 mark (I think it was turn 8).... well it should. Thank God for 4wd!
