accord with vtec problem

Default accord with vtec problem

i just put my buddies 95 prelude motor in his car from japan and the motor runs perfect, but i cant get the vtec to come on, i tried with a vtec controller and still didnt work, i hooked it up manualy the selonoid comes on but the vtec will not work no matter what i did, it doesnt cut back or change the sound of motor when i turn it on, i took the selonoid apart and cleaned it still didnt work any advice would help.

Have you checked the oil pressure?

Def check the oil pressure, but I would think that because they just put it in the oil level and pressure would be fine...

Just what exactly do you expect to happen when you 'manually' turn on the Vtec solenoid? All that is doing is locking the intake rockers together to change the cam profile.
Click up this link to educate yourself

The only way you would know is to watch with the valve cover off.
