Idle running really high at first start up, engine cold.
This is a 95 Integra with LS Vtec setup.
It's ideling around 25-3000 when I first start it up.
Once the engine is warmed up it idles fine around 800rpms.
I cleaned out the FITV and it still did the same thing.
It's throwing a code 7 for the TPS.
It's getting 5 volts to it like it should.
Do you guys think the TPS could be causing the high rpm's at start-up?
It's a p28 ecu with a vafc.

I know from experience that when the tps eather isn't working properly or isn't hooked up it will idle at around 3000 rpm at startup when it's cold. The main thing on the tps to check for is the voltage on the middle wire. If ur ecu is obd1 backprobe d11 and it should read around .2-.8 volts, u have to turn the car to ON to do this, but don't turn it on. It should be at .45V at idle, so rotate the tps sensor until it read .45 volts.

So how do I backprobe the d11 wire?
I hooked up the multimeter between the d11 and d22 wires coming from the ecu
with the ignition on but not started and it didnt read anything.

How do I backprobe it?
Should be D11 + chassis ground (Im not sure what D22 is), if you didnt get a reading, then maybe its bad.
