Default Hey i wass wondering do you really need a oxygen sensor connected?

hey honda-tech well once i again im wondering if you really need an o2 sensor to be connected or not. and what i mean by connect is to be pluged into the cat or headers. hears the deal i did a swap on my crx and it turns out that my gsr headers and my test pipe (cat) dont have a whole for the o2 sensor to screw into. so right now i have it connected but its just hangin there i dont have it srewed in the headers or cat. and i was wondering my crx gsr is idling a little bit . so i was wondering if i really need it or could i just leave it hanging? Whats happening since i dont have it connect? is my ecu getting wrong signals about how the engine is running or what? basicly i have no o2 sensor connect on the cat or header.

yeah that is bad, I would at least unplug it and not let it dangle there.

trust me, get your o2 sensor working properly. Your plugs will foul really fast, your cat will clog, your motor will run so rich that it will make you sick. Ive been trying to get my o2 sensor working for like 4 months now with no luck and my engine is paying the price.

I havent had mine for a while and i got a LS swap I mean its just a beater but I've been ridin' like this for a while and now its ideling at 3 grand! its really shitty fix it up or have someone else do it. get a different cat with the plug for it. It's dangerous.
