perhaps some balance?
i suppose he can throw 400 extra pounds in the rear to compensate the additional weight of the new engine & tranny... but then why not just buy a supra in the first place.

you have no clue what you're talking about if you think it cost $5k to get a supra motor into an s2000 that cost you $15k. and for $40k, you could buy yourself a nice single turbo supra. the guy should have just built his f20 and gone turbo with that it would have been better because he would have been able to retain the balance of the car. the 2jz weighs a lot more than the f20/f22, and the getrag tranny weighs a buttload more than the s2k tranny.

While i think it is a very cool and creative swap, i just do not see the need to do it to the s2k.....
with so many people running boost on their s2ks and not having problems, i think that boosting the stock motor is the better way to go imo.
however, if all out straight line power is what you are looking for there is no better motor to do it with than a 800hp supra motor......

Im just glad its another RWD platform in the s2000 and not some K series swap like everyone else wants to do.
I heard about this last week. The 2jz looks very cramped, I wonder if the firewall had to be modded for this, and what other work was needed to make this mock up.

I agree. There are definately some big power swaps that would be cool to see in an s, but they are all heavy and would kill the balance. like an rb26dett with an rb25det trans. All the swaps that I can think of that are small and light enough to keep the car well balanced won't really make much more power than a turboed f series. But they might have different powerbands... sr20det for instance

This is the first and only S2000 in the world with a 2JZ engine swap. Many think it could not be done, but the guys (Bryan and Mike) from Fifty Fifty Racing proved them all wrong. This is truely a piece of art, considering all the custom work that went into building this BEAST. Our hats are off to these guys. Bryan from Fifty Fifty has built some very high horsepowered Supra's in his day, along with a few turbo'd Honda S2000's, he thought "why don't I combine them and get the best of both worlds" He pulled his 2.0 out and next thing you know 2JZ, well not really, The custom work that has gone into this monster has been beyond belief. Everything from the motor mounts, transmission, radiator, clutch, you name it and it has either been customized or changed. The numbers that this Methanol Injected S2000 put down are truely impressive. 900RWHP! Oh yeah, guess what, there is another one in the works, it is Yellow and the boys from Fifty Fifty plan to out do themselves with it.
