NJ emissions test
I need to re-register my car in NJ, but I dont think it will pass emissions. I have I/H/E crower 62403's hiflow cat FPR and PYR ecu. The ecu can be reverted back to stock and the car leaned out a bit but sometimes the car wont idle or will idle high, it is really unpredictable and so I dont think it will pass the idle test. Probably wont pass saftey test with that ABS light on either. (bad whel sensor- will replace soon) Anyone have a hookup in NJ? I need to get this done soon. TIA
the emission standards are really not strict in NJ. if you can not even pass those, you realize that you truly are killing the environment quite a bit...and for what, 5 whp?
I didnt say I was a gross polluter, I have a cat, and I dont drive everyday either. I take the train so school. So there buddy!
I just dont think it would pass the idle test if it is not idling (idling at 350) or is idling at 1500 rpm. But I have never taken the test in NJ so I dont really know what it involves. I know NYS test is supposed to be 'strict' but the sniffer is easy to pass and the asfety inspection is nonexistent. Anyone care to elaborate on what really goes on during a test in NJ? If it doesnt sound so bad then maybe I will try to stabilize the idle and take the car in.
