Default cv axels

Iwant to change the cv axel,s on my 1993 accord lx .They have reman . at auto
zone for $70.00. Are they a decent outfit? Im hoping to do this job myself any helpful hints appreciated .Thanks JIM

Reman's are fine.

Umm... Get a deadblow/big *** plastic hammer.

i'm not sure where your located but Advanced Auto in CO has CV axels with a lifetime warrenty for like $45. I'm about to go replace mine cause one is messed up.

i would say a rubber mallet, to mallot the end of the axle where the big nut goes on to.. I had to hammre mine out but not all crazy like lol, they pop out of the tranny pretty easy and stuff. Its a easy DIY job

Yah if this job is not simple the splines are probably f'ed up.

they should go in with some leverage from the knuckle, if you have to bang it in, you need to watch out for seized housing-->tranny failure

just don't get autozone axle, some of my broken one is better than their "rebuild" unit

Simply smaking it good and hard will pop it out.

Maybe I change my axels in a weird fashion...

When you go to install the new axle, make sure to slather up the threads with anti-seize to make future removals easier on you.

you do change them weird... i didnt use a hammer, my boots aren't torn! 3 weeks later, yes they are smooth like a dream.

Talking about the boot on the upper balljoint. Oh well, I can do both sides by myself with a set of hand tools in under 45mins
