2001 Accord - Bad Tensioner or Balance Shaft
I have a 4 cylinder 2001 accord ex, and I just installed my new timing belt/water pump/tensioners/tensioner belt/seals etc. Well as i finished the car everything sounds great, i then drive the car everything sounds great. Well i try driving the car again about 30 minutes later and i start to get major vibration in the cabin. So i know the balance shaft is off somehow. I take the car apart, the timing belt is still at tdc, and my front balance shaft is still aligned with mark on the block but the rear shaft is now off by 1 or 2 teeth. I dont see how this happen because the balance shaft belt was still tight, and i checked all the teeth on the rear balance shaft and they are all there. So i dont see how only the rear shaft moved ?????

Can you explain your question a little better?</TD></TR></TABLE>
2003 is when they changed the set up ..
if the belt was tight it would be real hard that it jumped any teeth ....
you did not install the little bolt ( 10mm head ) in the t- belt tensioner by any chance did you ??
