Default 96 ek gsr hatch cel code 65 losing power?

i have 96 ek hatch with b18c1. Its throwing code 65. Am i losing power since im in limp mode, i just bought obd 1 p72 gsr ecu and jumper harness after days of finally finding one and will slap that on once i get it. Right now im running the obd2 p72, and the cel is making me run like ****. Is this common when cel is on. I dont want to fix my secondary o2 sensor wiring since its a bitch and i need a new cat.Anyone have same problem?

Is the engine u have obd1 or obd2? If it's obd1 then get that jumper harness and ecu and u won't haev to worry about the secondary o2 sensor. For now, just check the wiring, underneath the car, it could have came unplugged or 1 of the wires could have melted and shorted out.

i have obd2a gsr motor and running the obd2a ecu. Am i really losing power because of the cel? im also running a crappy catco cat with no o2 bung on it. Do i need oem gsr cat with the o2 sensor. Does the secondary o2 sensor need to be plugged in on the cat in order for it to work properly? Right now the shop welded a o2 bung on the piping right after cat and it is plugged in there but still shows cel. Well i ordered p72 obd1 ecu and jumper harness since i will retune my car when i slap some header. Also we had to extend the wires on the o2 sensor when they did the swap, maybe it could be melted wires, we double checked and they are color coded

i dont wanna run jdm ecu. I will just run obd1 p72 ecu. Is this normal to lose power with the cel?

i dont think that not having a 2nd o2 sensor will make u lose power...all it does is read the gasses in the exhaust

well i do have cel. Doesnt Cel put the car limp mode? Meaning it will retard timing and mess up how your car runs?

I don't know for sure about obd2 cars, but for obd1 cars, that one o2 sensor is really impotant, and without it u will lose almost all power, not sure with the the secondary o2 sensor on obd2 cars. If ur ganna convert ur car to obd1 ur ganna need an obd1 dizzy.

if you want it to get legit, i would get a stock cat and o2 and wire it up. Than you done and its clean. No other way of doing it inorder to pass state ref. I dont think they allow chip ecus at the state ref. you shouldnt have to remove the iab... unless you dont have one wire up but you should get it wired.

im not worry about getting legit getting rid of CEL> Well the car is at shop and the obd 1 p72 is throwing code 41. He will rewire everything since it looks pretty messed up from the swap, the person who swap, messed up wiring, he will chip and retune on the dyno. He said it should clear all the codes.
