Default HID- Pics/experiences

Hey everyone, I was looking to buy an HID kit and was wondering if you guys could post some pictures of your cars with HID's preferably DC5's, but EP3's will be fine too. also could you tell me about your experiences with them, any glare problems/ blinding on coming traffic? and how to do the wiring if not plug and play........ thanks

Rebased bulb "HID conversion kits" are a no-no.

Do a search on "retrofit."

You'll see the way!

if you just get a plug and play, you will have lots of glare. if you do a retrofit, you will get a great cutoff. also note that with retrofits, you will only need to get 4100k or 4300k to get the best light and great color. the projector gives the HID the color, not the HID itself.

I have Mculloch 5300k Plug and plays on my 03 EP3. Yes the cut off is never going to be like a retro fit, but I love the output of the light and it took me literally 15 minutes to do. I couldnt beat the price of $250 either.

I had no problems with blinding oncoming traffic because they are made for LHD instead of RHD like the JDM versions. The light beams very bright and lights up the streets like no other.

One of the top mods for an ep3 besides a k20a swap. I color moded mine with washers.

well depends on how much you can get TSX projectors from. then its your choice whether you wanna get shrouds or make your own. so lets say you can get a pair of projectors for 200, and you want some $20 shrouds, that's $220. plus the D2S HID kit

I had those on my EP3. They were absolutely great. I even went as far as letting Ocelaris install the height adjuster although I have to admit it was always just a novelty and not much real use on the road.

This is no use to the original poster, because he has a DC5. But it's still pretty darned neat.
