d16y8 manifold on y7 head
i just finished the swap and have some questions about some vacuum lines and where they go. i used an automatic y8 manifold since the y7 has the 3 wire iacv and the auto y8 does too.... the small nipple on the back of the manifold goes where? i got one of the coolant lines connected to the iacv, but have no idea where the other goes to or comes from.... i have 2 big nipples on the manifold, one goes to the little emissions control thing with an electrical connector, then to the canister on the firewall, but does the other nipple go to the pcv valve? right now when i start my car it just accelerates.... if i unplug the iacv it gets a lumpy idle.... im sure i just have to figure out what vacuum lines go where and that will fix it but right now im at a stand still.... any input would be great.
The small nipple on the back if the manifold goes to cruise control. If you don't have cruise control you can jb weld it shut.
One of the coolant lines from the iacv goes to a nipple near the thermostat and the other one goes to a nipple on the metal water tube at the back of the block.
As for the two big vacuum nipples at the front of the manifold, the other one goes to the pcv valve and into the black canister attached to the back of the block.

well... got all my vacuum done.... have one more nipple i dont know where it goes.... its on the manifold right where it bolts to the head and points straight up. im figuring its an auotmatic only thing, but dont know where it goes. and i still have erratic idle really bad. wont stay put. i have the dx injectors and fuel rail on it.... and the throttle body has all the sensors on it also. help me
Yes plug it up. It is the 99-00 specific air injection. If you ever remove the intake manifold again, there are 4 more tiny holes above each runner on the flange which also need to be jb welded shut. If you cap off that vacuum nipple and it still surges, chances are you will need to remove the manifold and do as said above. Good luck.

talking about the four tiny holes right above the injectors, correct? im gonna get some jb weld on them today, let it sit overnight, and then put it back on tomorrow. Haha... getting pretty quick at this whole remove the intake manifold thing... haha... only 8 minutes today
