D-16 accord?
Has anyone ever swapped in a d-16 into an accord. It would be slower, but gas milage would go way up. Its not a good idea for a swap, but i would like to see someone do it. Plus you can get that engine for like $10.

gas mileage goes up? when it redline everytime and the car wouldn't even move because the power band is totally wrong?

yea for sure, just wondering though, but here is what they should sell to get better milage. A really good started that gets charged by the rear brakes. So every time your at a red light it shuts off and the brakes re-charge it. But this would be a system that you could install into any car, thus creating a sorta hybrid. That wouuld be cool. The starter would have to be really strong and spin the engine up to like 3000 before it puts just a drop of fuel in. like the prius!!!

There's a reason why hybrid cars cost that much more than the regular models... The equipment needed to do what you ask is not easily just added to whatever car you want. An electric motor that would be able to spin the motor (and accelerate the car) up to 3000 rpm?
It isn't as easy as an extra battery and new starter. If you want a hybrid, buy a hybrid. It would be cheaper and more efficient than trying to make your own.

Hybrids can take energy from the brakes because they have electric motors. Without an electric motor, you can't reclaim power. You will have better luck making a hybrid by strapping rocket engines to your trunk and popping the clutch to start the motor once the rockets have gotten you up to 88mph.

um...sounds easy enough..but do you know how much million and year toyota invested to get it to work properly?
unless you have your team of EE, ME, welders, don't.
the civic gets better mileage than accord because it's a lighter car, lighter car need smaller motor to run, smaller motor need less fuel.
small motor in heavy car will hurt gas mileage, the motor has to work ten time as hard with the added weight and totally wrong powerband/torque curve.
