Default How to "edit" a muffler?

I have a 1994 Civic with a dual cam ZC (obd1)
I've installed a header, "A" (downpipe) pipe and a test pipe.
From the test pipe back it's just the stock b- pipe and muffler.
With the extra air flow some of the baffles have come loose inside of the muffler and causing a nasty rattle on any acceleration.

What I want to do is cut open the muffler remove/ fix the baffles and put it back together. (trying to avoid police appeal with an a/m muffler)

Has anybody done this before?
Thanks in advance

Also i know it's something similar to this thread. I'm just looking for steps. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=412356

I have done it. It had a pretty nice sound to it.

Basically, I cut a big square on one side, gutted it, then welded the square back on.

Never got a ticket either.

Awesome. So it's just one layer of metal and the the baffles and such? I think i'm going to leave some in there just to keep it somewhat reasonable and quiet, as well as weld on an exhaust tip from a 04 cr-v

If you look at some muffler cross-section pics, its usually just 2 walls inside (creating 3 chambers), one preforated tube (to rearmost chamber), another pref tube from rear to front, then the final front to rear pref tube to make the outlet.

You may only have to have one wall/tube welded, so I'd hack it open 1st and check to see whats rattling.
