Default d16y8 head build

Hey im still n/a right now but i think i wanna build the head...i was gonna go with the 105300 with super-tech springs and retainers, a new cam gear(dunno what type), and maybe have a shop PnP it...im also probly gonna throw some arp's in there since the blocks gonna be apart. So pretty much, does any1 have this combination? Hows it workin out? How hard is it to take apart/assemble all of this? im new at this so i dont have ANY experience on how to do this....

another thing is that when i do get all this on...what do i need to do as far as tuning goes? Do i need to mess with the timing? would i need some type of tuning device (ex: afc) I live in cali so im trying to keep it obd2 if possible so right now running crome, uber, etc is not really an option

also...i plan on getting the edelbrock kit sometime soon, so im kinda worried that if i DO build the head its gonna throw off the settings for the engine management the kit comes with...and then im stuck in a tuning situation again...

thanks for any help in advanced

**edit**

one more thing...if i do biuld the head...would upgrading to oversized valves be worth the extra 300 dollars? im tryna keep this cheap but reliable

yea im gonna turbo it eventually....matter fact that was the plan all along...i was just thinkin about building the head first...then turbo it...then build the bottom end...

i just want some insite from people who have built up their heads on their d series and i wanna know much much power theyre making...im kinda at a goal of getting ~130whp n/a before i go turbo (which should be easy enough with a pretty much fully built head)

backwards, get a boost setup run at 8psi (WAY OVER 130 at this point already and it only gets better) then build bottom, then build top.

vitaras+tunertoy rods if your broke.

if your totally new to this, then i would definetely say have someone professional do it for you. you spend a little bit of money to have it done, but its better than spending a bunch of money down the road when something goes wrong with the head you built. as for your idea, i see more and more single cams being rebuilt and used for turbo applications. when done right, you can make a pretty good amount of horsepower while creating a sleeper. good luck.
