cleaning my engine bay HELP
i need to clean my engine bay. what should i use? do i need to cover anything or do i just buy ____________ product...spray it on and then wash it off with a high pressure rinse?
I usually take off my dist cap, plug out my plugs and wires.... spray the bay with high pressure, then I spray it done with Simple Green , and then I use a bunch of soap, then I high pressure wash it off , then I put back in the plugs and wires, and then I put back on the dist cap.
I love using a product called STEAM. You can buy it at Wal Mart. With this product you let your car run for like 10 mins to build a little heat. Then you should cover your distributor, air filter (if you have SRI). I believe thats all I covered, dont go crazy around your fuse box area and stuff and go easy around the spark plug area. Not hard.
i do my entire bay with armorall... if its real dirty start w/ some kind of foaming citrus cleaner... after all the heavy stuff is off armorall will cut through whatever stuff is left and leave it nice and shiny. it aslo makes it easier to clean in the future w/ a spritz of armorall and a swipe w/ a microfiber
