I am retarded need resonator help asap
Ok i am in the process of removing the resonator in my 90 accord and i feel retarded because i do not know what to do with the vacuum hose. There is a hose going into a diaphram thing going up to a sensor with a plug in it, i think it is all connected to the resonator. Basically i want to know if i am gonna throw a code taking that **** off or plug it up and do i leave the plastic piece with with sensor on it in there. Thanks
I think that hose goes into one of the tubes that is connected to the airbox. I guess you can chuck it. Do you just want to remove the resonator or the whole airbox?
Just the resonator for now i hack sawed the air box so there is a huge as hole in it. There is a plastic piece mounted to the side of the fender at the top right behind the head light that has a plug for a sensor in it i really need to know if that plastic piece comes off. Some how the plug connected to the diaphram is run up to a hose on the throttle body thats why i am asking. I have an h22 swap and i don't wanna mess anything up
Why not? Are we talking about the same thing? Where the filter goes thats what i am talking about i took off the little resonator pipes then cut a large hole in it. lets more air in i see no difference between that and a short ram mine was much cheaper though. I feel like a moron cause no one knows what i am talking about there is a little diaphram thing with a hose coming off of it going up to a plug or some type of sensor i am trying to figure out if this is connected to the resonator and what will happen if i just take it off. Some ones gotta have an idea of what i am talking about!
as long as the tb to filter is sealed its fine, from the filter out you want as much air flow as possible, you might also want to get a k&n drop in filter

i got all the **** to make an intake i just haven't gotten around to it. It looked like it was gonna rain here so i pulled my car in the garage and was messin around just taken stuff off. I can't find what this little thing is called it is almost the shape of an egr valve i really have no idea what it is. I know its something to do with vacuum just not sure what.
Its a 90 accord by the way maybe that will help

Doesn't it activate something that decreases noise... to about 3500rpm, then activates? I read it in the chilton's crap manual. I just plugged mine @ the manifold and took off the electroic valve thingy.

haha, hey it never did rain. I just pulled it in the garage and washed the tb out with some soap and water, for some reason it won't start now go figure
Yeah thats it i guess it is not connected. What does it do? BTW where did you get that diagram? It'd be nice to get stuff like that i got a sucky asshaynes manual and no money for a helms.
Thanks man, So what do you guys think where should i run this stupid *** hose or can i just clamp it off? Don't you have to take the whole piece out to put in an intake? I know this is really retarded but i am not sure what to do. Thanks
Since your removing the intake and resonator, none of those damn wires are needed. They are useless. Pull them out and stop worrying about it.
haha alright man thanks i kinda just figured that out when i saw my bothers car and all it had left was the plug nothing else. Thanks for the help
what about the vacuum line 48 on the diagram should i leave it open or clamp it off? And if i leave it open should i put it behind the filter so no **** gets into it? Thanks last question on this i swear haha
