Default Tranny started grinding 2nd - > 3rd

It used to only do it when I was in vtec, but lately its been getting sooner and sooner... now it does it at anything above about 4000rpm.

Its about time to change the tranny fluid anyways so are there any additives I (or the dealership) can put in to help with that?

GM synchro mesh or Honda MTF won't fix that issue. You'll more than likely have to rip the tranny apart and replace the synchro's and sleeves. Atleast the 3rd gear one.

But try the change of tranny fluid first, and make sure the fluid is at the correct level. If this fails, well... start pulling the tranny out if you can't drive it like it is.

i can drive it just fine, just bothers me that if i ever want to accelerate fast in 2nd gear i either have to go into 4th right after or grind the gears...

will the honda dealership put GM fluid in for me?

Doubt it. They'll put in Honda MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid) in for you though. They do the same thing for the most part. Some people will say they work the same, some people say GM is better. I personally say they're basically the same.

Tranny fluid isn't too difficult to do though. You could probably do it yourself and put in the GM Synchromesh if you wanted to.
