Go play with your buddies in the CRX forum. Don't bring questions like this that you have obviously done no research on to the ITR forum. =P

You just need your car to be able to handle ITB's and some serious tuning. You will get impressive gains from ITB's

Upside = serious power (if tuned correctly) down side = if you don't have a box for them you run the risk of damaging engine internals because they're wide open.

You can make more power from a properly built and tuned plenum, and have less headaches from tempormental tuning, fabrication to run filters...etc

The ONLY benefit to ITB's is throttle response. And bling, if you're into that.

Well based on the feed back it does not seem like something I should do. The guy also said that they need to synchronize so thats something I will have to do or get done so they can open all the way at the same time.

Do you know what you are talking about?

First of all, ITR's don't even have an IAB (check the forum you are in), secondly, neither do ITB's.

No the seller told me I have to have them sync so they open and closed at the same time. The TWM has linkages underneath to adjust its not like the Toda

TWM's are garbage. They make sh*t for power and they have too many inherent problems that make them a PITA. You will make way more power with an IB intake manifold and 70mm tb than TWM's ever will.

what the crap?? : Passes out :
I think your username is affecting your brain activity.

(i do like the 1107 part for sentimental reasons, however)

Agreed.

And there is enough bling loving in here to make ITB's a serious topic.

That, and there actually are some informative threads about this topic, if the thread poster was so inclined to search.....

chris - who wonders what in the hell is going on in here lately.

Any time you have multiple throttle plates, they need to be synchronized to open together. This is not a big deal, at least on an inline engine.

It was a bit of a pain synching the Dellorto carbs on my Karmann Ghia, because it was a boxer engine and there was a good 24" between the two carbs, making the linkage a bit cumbersome. But even then, it's one of those things you don't have to do very often.

Not trying to argue, but there have been some custom designed ITB's out there as well. Actually the Jenvey ITB's I bought the horns were custom built for a certain power band, and as of yet no manifold has made more power than them. The previous owner is a well respected tuner in and tested them against many manifolds.

Just a point that properly designed and tuned ITB's, along with the throttle response, could in fact be as good or better than a manifold.
