I have a gsr motor I'm not too sure What is the function of the oil windage tray?
Do I really need it?
Anyone know?

 

The purpose of the windage tray is to keep the oil from getting scattered around the oil pan from the crankshaft and rods moving at high rpms. You WANT that tray in your engine for sure. In extreme cases, you could scatter the oil and run the pump dry and toast your motor without it.
