i have messed up synchros. wich i beleive could be the reason i bent valves and miss shifted in january.
acura is threatening not to honor my warranty till they check out the problem and decide wether or not its my fault.
does that make sense.
the car has 46,000 miles on it. i have been to the track only 3 times(drag"9 runs")
the rest is highway driving.
i am tired of going through the threats of its automatically my fault when i bring the car in.
i was told that they would not honor the warranty basically because i "RACE my Type R"
i am going to see what i can do and try to get the dealership to pay.
do i need to let them open up the tranny and say its not warranteed befor i complain?

call your zone office, which is in md 301-990-2020
the nation hq's isn't going to do much for ya except transfer you around
good luck w/ your claim that's not gonna be an easy one........
oh and they do have to send out a warrenty manager to look at your car to authorize repairs, which will most likely call for disasembly.......he is basically now your god.

Don't get too wound up before you talk with them. A buddy of mine trashed his motor (yup-clearly his fault-no wiggle room there<LOL>
and ACURA still helped him out by supplying a new short block. He paid for labor which was about 40% of the bill.
That was more than fair!!!! Legally and morally they didn't have to do ANYTHING except sympathize. They bailed him out. (Not sure I would have, given the situation)
Be cool!
