d series turbo or b series n/a
i have a b16a2 head with a gsr tranny im thinkin about buildin it for all motor and putting it in my ej1. right now i have a z6 single cam punchin 276 whp. but i cant get it to start. i cant make a decision on wich one i want.i know the dual cam would have more potential but is it worth the money and will it push more hp??
Well its a no-brainer the b16's have more potential - if you boost it. You ask the right question though, is it worth it to upgrade.
Going from boost to NA is only worth it if you run only on the street, with crappy tires, and don't have a very reliable boost setup. Once you go NA b16, you'll be waiting for the torque, which simply won't come.
If you can build the b16, you can do so with a d16, but for less. Theres a bunch of people pushing 300+ whp with stock d16 heads, more than enough for the street. BTW this is a baaaad section to ask for a b-or-d discussion. 3/4 of the ***** in this EG/EK section have only owned one honda, and half of those have a 2nd hand, beat-up b16a/b18b. They can't imagine d16s making more than 100whp in their wildest wet dreams.
