ap2 bumper plastic undertrey
guys, when a car gets hit from the back, does the plastic undertray thing break as well when the bumper breaks? b/c that happened and the shop got me an Ap2 rear bumper on and as i was driving today a friend noticed that on the freeway my bumper was moving and bending a lot. i checked, that plastic thing isnt on the bumper...do you guys know why? shoudl the shop have bought that and installed it as well? is it the same price as the ap1 rear bumper or more?
btw, the front bumper, there holes on the bottom where it connects to taht same plastic, the screws dont get tight b/c there is nothign to hold it. why is that? do i need those plastic screw things or is another thing missing there as well?

your wording is a litle screwy, but i think i understand... normally the force of a collision to the bumper is strong enough to tear the plastic where the screws go through...if a screw pulls out, the plastic cover will either be damaged( such as making the hole larger so the screw will just pull out in the future) or a complete tear occurs where nothing is left to attach the bumper to. which sounds like what you have...any guyturning a wrench at a body shop should recognise this as a common event with accidents, and should have told you and included it in his estimate...esp being an expensive vehicle...compared to a civic beater that you just ziptie and put back on the road...
i would go back and ask why it was not repaired, then if he admits he missed the damage pay for the part and labor, but i wouldnt pay for the repeat labor of taking anything off that was part of the original labor, because its not your fault he has to spend time removing parts a second time because he was unaware of damage you asked him to repair... unless u just walked in and asked for your bumper to be replaced, because then he is just doing what you asked.

well the entier back was hit. so i changed the taillights, and rear bumper. assuming they order bumpers 24/7 i would think they woudl konw they had to buy the plastic piece. dont you think so?
