ok.. i got a 97 civic dx.. i just put a d16y8 in it friday night.. i got a wiring harness off a 98 civic also a y8.. and the ecu out of a 99 civic with a y8 .. the 99 ecu dont hold the slot for my vtec.. y? and today me and a buddy was jokin round a put his accord vtec ecu in it but it was cammin really high.. so we ran the vtec to that ecu and the rest to my y7 ecu .. it runs fine..will it hurt anything? and also .. i got 3 plugs on the harness near the distributor that aint pluged up.. one goes to the charcole canister.. does that matter if the canister aint got the plug , pluged in.. cuz my dx aint got the plug but my girls ex does.. so what yall think on that one.. let me know everything u got.. leave it here or im me aim.. teamsohc06.. thanks

well you're using a obd2b ecu on and obd2a motor and harness, the plugs and wiring are different. get the right 96-98 ecu.
