Default need more penetration

im just testing out my welder and learning. I still need more penetration though. Its on the 90amps setting (max for my machine) and for wire speed, from 1-10 I think it is, its set at 6-7

For more penetration, should I speed up the wire feed, or maybe go slower. I tried going slower, but blew through and made a hole, then again, I guess I should have also slowed down the wire feed while going slower. Any pointers. Im going to try some more either later or tomorrow, and I can take some pictures.

BTW its flux cored wire on a MIG. no gas.

Prep the material better. You are not going to get full penetration unless you bevel the butt-welds, with a 90-amp machine.

or max penetration you want the thickest fc wire the machine will use + C02. Since you blew through, you can get enough penetration, but you just need to fiddle with the settings. Remember, wire feed needs to be dialed in on scrap first - try every combo of settings on scrap 1st then do the actual piece
