You can't get any better than stock. You won't see a gain that is worth the money you would put into the valvetrain on the D17A. Plus you would have to tune it, and beef up the fuel and ignition systems to boot....


But if you feel you must, Crowwer and I think Crane makes cams for the D17. Google is your friend here.

 

well wut im going to do is bore it out as big as posiblr i know i will have to sleav it and do other stuff and speaking of upgradeing the fule do u know were to get a fule rail at

 

On our cars, it iwll not do any good to bore, sleeve, and upgrade the fuel. It isn't that easy....

But to keep it short and sweet... look in the FAQ thread up top, there is a 305 hp D17A motor buildup thread. Check it out.

So you are trying to beat $30k+ 300-400hp, and even 500hp+ 12 second american V-8's with a $20k, 16 second econobox with a 1.7 SOHC motor?

If you're talking about 03 cobras and ls1 camaros than you're gonna need a swap or turbo.

 

Forget the 03's.... what about the new '07's with the 500 whp 5.4L Triton DOHC 330 c.i.d V-8's that turn a stock high 12 second quarter mile pass.

That's really the most retarded thing I have read in several months...you'll be lucky if your car still runs after you try to do any of those things. It's a slow economy car and for you that's all it will ever be, just accept it.

 

He never establish the definition of beat. Maybe his beating meant seeing those car's rear ends in a far distance behind.

Only way that'd work, with a N/A build-up, is if you strapped the engine to a go kart.

but if you are serious and you did beat them .........did they know you were racing them? or did you whip by them and throw on ur hazards?

 

shoot, I've got a turbo, ecu, fuel rail, and some bullshit fuel injection computer I don’t even know how to work and I’m luck if I get 200whp and if I do I can forget about having traction though first and second.

 

this thread made my day. Dude if your car is stock which i would say it is, there is no way in hell that you beat those cars. I had a SER kill me when i first hade my car, i had cai, dc header, and greddy fullcatback exaust, thats not doing to much if any for my car hahaha. Just stop now before you get flamed bad
