Last night I noticed this rattling sound in my front end as soon as I put a load on the car in first or reverse, I hear it sometimes when braking hard, and If I'm crusing and play with the gas peddle in a quick tapping motion I hear it as well. At first I thought it was coming from my drivers side axle, then after a friend helped me look into it we noticed the same identical sound from both sides. I pulled off both front wheels and checked axles, bushing, balljoints, and so on, but nothing obvious. Thats when someone said their prelude SH made the same noises when his LSD went bad. I'll be leaving the R off at Acura thursday to get it checked out. I hope they don't leave me with some rental for to long, because I've heard some horror stories and this could take a few weeks to straighten out. And yes I checked the cat., and the brakes they both seem fine. The noise is clearly coming from directly behind the two front rims.

I was gonna say axles. But if you checked them and they're ok. I'd say it's probably internal.

I will try to explain it to you.
The diff in an SH is composed of an inner part and outer part. They are not
connected in any way, one just turns inside the other. The trans drives the ring
gear, which turns the outer part, which in turn drives the ATTS unit.
That biases the power and turns the inner part of the diff which drives the axle.

I put the car under a load with the hood up and the motor mounts are fine the noise I get is right behind both rims, that's why I was thinking axles or LSD.

P.S. I'm not trying to be an *** but could you flatten out your sig paragraph style instead of line by line. It makes it hard to scrole through 17+ lines of sig evertime you post. If you don't what to so be it.

My guess on this is a bad throwout bearing on your clutch. My daily driver had this happening to it for a while and when i finally got around to replacing it, it had torn up the tranny too. It was making a rattling noise when the clutch was disengaged and disappeared when i put the clutch in. Not to mention when you let it out slowly in any gear and kinda just give it half thorttle, you'd hear the nasty rattling sound. From my experience, a busted LSD would be a LOT more then a slight rattling sound. Just my $0.02
if it is the LSD dont drive your car around much, you will eventually break the gearbox. The LSD should fall under warranty so let the dealership check it, they had mine car in and out for a few months before they found out it was the LSD
