Default - Doing a Compression Test.. No timing Belt.. some Q's -

So my timing snapped on me when i was just sitting still idling. I have the tools to do a compression test, but I was reading on H-T just to do the compression test without the timing. My question is, will it be okay to crank the car and what not without having a timing belt installed, or do I have to install the timing belt just to see what my compression is... I want to check if my valves are screwed.

yeah, if your valves aren't screwed now, they will be when you crank the engine without a timing belt.

Why can't you just lower the piston to BDC...

Nevermind b/c that doens't guarantee the valves are closed...& @ me..

Yeah I think it's impossible..
