Default Newbie S2K hard top v.s. soft top question

i know this may sound stupid. but what is lighter the convertable top or hard top. i'm assuming you remove the soft top all together after you install the hard top.

umm depends.....

you don't have to remove the softtop if you put the hardtop on..... you can have both....

however.. if it was either hardtop with softop stuff taken out... or softtop itself... the hardtop would be lighter...

the car will be about 30lbs lighter when the softtop assembly is removed running the OEM top. With a mugen cf top, it'll be about 45-50lbs lighter.

Before you take off the soft top and put on the hardtop, I'd ask these guys about hardtop fit. I don't have a hardtop myself, but some of the s2k owners here have mentioned problems with the fit of their hardtops. I'd highly suggest that you ask that question before doing anything.
