Default 1/4 mile time

So I went to the track today and almost dipped into 14's...

3 reasons I think I cant get there.

1. my falken azenis are almost bald, there is about less than a 1/4 inch thread on them...

2. my clutch does not engage until its 1/4 way up, slipping the hole time..

3. maybe my RRRRRRRRR is just slow....

and dont say you cant drive or because I cant launch the car. I can, my brother has a 00 SI with a b20vtec at 170hp to the wheels and I pull 14.4 on that all day even without the lsd

its stock with only aem cai. but my Q is do you think my cluth has alot to do with it ?
By the way the only thing that b20 has is 11.1 comp, apr headbolts and hondata, thats all he has everyhting else is all stock b16 parts, hence the reason it puts 170hp to the wheels on 17's..

my B16 Coupe went 15.00 dont worry though it takes time......first time i ran my 400 whp R i went 13.3 but it was a damp track and just spun. For those tires azenis almost bald is a good ting they are still good to go after some real wear.. warm them up good though thats key. As far as the clutch did you take you foot off the pedal between shifts? if not get into that if ya can.

Yes I always take my foot off the clutch, but for some reason when I takeoff it will grab around 4500, but then it feel like a its not grabbing until 5500 which is why I think my clutch is bad.....

It's definitely in the way you launch, I own a GSR, and stock I was running 15.0s and am now down to 14.61 with just Comptech Intake and Comptech exhaust. I also dynoed at 160whp. This is full interior street car weighing in at 2600lbs. Practice is what will make your technique improve. I was launching really low at like 3K and now have finally found out how to launch much higher with minimal wheelspin, I launch at 5000rpms now on street tires. Just keep practicing.

The Japanese in the BM Type R ledgends do 14.2's on street tyres stock, although their ITR's have about 3000miles on them if that.. so everything is probly reasonably perfect

The 1st time o ever drag raced my ITR i did a 14.8, then dropped it to a 14.2 as i got used to it. I stayed on 14.2 consistantly the entire day, then the 1st run the next morning i nailed the 13.9. It was the perfect launch. 5500ish launch, minimal wheelspin. Iv never felt the R pull so hard before

Thus the reason my clutch wore out quickly Im over the drag punishment now. Track FTW

what is the elivation your running the car at ? a higher elivation will yield slower times. at 5800 ft above sea level, i noticed around 1.2 second drop in 1/4 times. If your at sea level, you should be hitting low 14s, however, with a bad clutch i can see that becoming difficult to achieve. Keep trying and dont delay on fixing that clutch. get it done and be happy you got it done. Theres nothing worse that a slipping clutch.

92mph, probably isn't gonna cut it if your trying to hit low 14s high 13s. I believe your gonna need somewhere in the 98mph to get that time range. I am getting 14.6s at 94mph. I also believe your 60ft' which isn't shown is probably in the 2.4 range, meaning your bogging or spinning off the line, you say your clutch feels bad, so I am guessing it's a bog. Your 1/8 is also a little on the slow side.

JDMThoughts is right,
My 14.2's were all in the range of 95-97mph, and the 13.9 was at 99.5mph (so close to the big 100 )

Fingers croseed for next time!
