If I remove the bolt wich holds the Damper Fork and A Arm together, will the fork blow out downwards? As I have it lifted?

I got the bolt halfway out but am afraid to tap it all the way in fear it will blow out

dude, look where your jackstand is....that is DUMB, you are putting a load on the suspension and then trying to take off the shock? put the jackstand on the tab behind the wheel arch, and use the jack where your lca joins the subframe...this is insane

edit: is the jackstand that is on the LCA supporting teh car in any way?

 

yeah, don't put a load on the suspension. just grab the head of the bolt with some pliers or vise grips and pull it out (twisting it back and forth usually helps) it's not gonna pop out and kill you

 

I've always put my jack stands on the Arm. There is no difference if the suspension had no jack or jack, the pressure is the same. Anyways, that was just a temp shot, of course if I was really going to attempt anything I would not put pressure on the suspension, I'm not an idiot. There has to be some amount of pressure pushing down on that through bolt, you know? Anyways, I'll try it tomorrow and document it for someone else who gets confused like I do...

no their isnt any pressure on that bolt, the LCAs weigh alot and the alignment of the fork make it hard to pull out, you'll cee, their is no suspension load when the wheel isnt on the floor

So how does this help?

To the original poster, do you still have the shock bolted to the shock tower?

 

The shock will not spring down. THere is no load on it if the wheel is completly of the ground.

I pulled it off. Anyways, I don't like taking chances with stupidity and *** handling everything like it's not going to f**k up, y'know? I've never done it, and so I had to ask. N00b? Pfft... Anyways, I never broke that stupid ball joint, took the upper bolts on the lower control arm to swing it out and the damper fork came off fine and so did the drive axles. Did my B16 swap with less trouble


But I will agree with most people on Hondaswap, Honda-Tech sure criticizes people who are trying to learn, which is almost contradictory to it's existence.
