Default 96 CIVIC HELP!!!

Ok I seem to have an issue with a 98 civic. The fuel pump was just replaced about 2 weeks ago and now every now and then the car just shuts off. the only thing that has been noticed when the car shuts off is that the temp gauge drops to cold. cold it be an ecu problem, or something to do with the fuel pump? i am at a loss here... any help is GREATLY appreciated

i also hooked it up to a scanner and nothing, no codes...

is there a crank angle sensor?
could it be that? or a main relay?
or just the ecu

sounds like a bad fuel pump i replaced mine only to find out the "brand new one" was defective. check the pressure in the fuel line.
