ok will crossing the comps on my amp make a difference if they already have a passive cross-over? The mids seem to be lackin and i want to fix it.

Amp is a PPI 5440

Yes, the passive crossover is for the lowpass and the highpass for the mid and tweeter respectively. It allows the highs out of the woofer to filter out and allow for the highs to start playing out of the tweeter. This transition, called a CROSSOVER point is centered at about 3-5kHz, depending on the speakers. The other crossover is on your PPI amp, where it will split the signal between your subwoofer and your component speakers. You can set it at about 90z as a rough ballpark on highpass to your component set to keep all the low bass out.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the response.

I understand how the crossover works, but thanks anyway. So you are saying i should set it about 90hz to keep the lows out? Ill give this a try to see how it works.

Thanks
