Whats the first thing I notice when I drive a bmw, new acura (or even Honda) or most other quality cars? How much better the power steering system is. Now before I hear eveyone go... Dude just take out the ps entirely, save your breath. Yes I realize thats the easy fix for my dilemma but it does not solve the problem. For instance, a Bmw's ps has a great balance between giving enough assistance but still not giving to much so you feel like wheel is about as resistant has a hampster wheel.
The accord ps helps out way way way too much and it gives no feed back to the driver. ( Yes I realize it was not designed to do that) But that being said dont you guys think if somehow we fabricated a smaller ps pulley that it would do the trick? I want ps for parking and even handling the accord is too damn heavy to remove it all together. I would love to hear any and all idea's on how you guys think this could possibly be achieved. I love my suspension, my built h22 and my gear box, but the only thing keeping my car from the sporty feel I want is the overwhelming assistance from the power steering. Any and all comments welcome.

for some reason the steering on my car has always been tight I've never drivin a car that had steering as tight as mine, im used to it but basicaly it feels lik ethe steering assist is like maybe 50% or somthing
Not sure which Accord you own but I currently own a 90, an 06, just traded an 01, and have a close friend that owns a 94. I will say the 06 has a bit better steering feel but the 90, the 94, and the 01 all feel great IMO. I don't think they are that much worse than the newer accords and I think they are all lightyears ahead of most cars on the road (especially GM).

well a ox drawn cart is light years ahead of GM, so no one thinks the power steering gives too much assistance?
Yep, let me find the tutorial real fast, you retain most of the use of the PS but take out the resoiver (sp?) and some other stuff, for some reason AccordinglyDone is down atm, but it's on their site, when it's back up you'll see it. I know for ITR's looping the system not only gives you more HP BUT since fluid is still present it's not like it's completely gone

I will admit that the 90 and 94 had more assist than the 01 and the 06. I would have preferred it to be a little less assist but the road feel is still excellent.

It seems that there is a lot of assist when you need it, parking lots and such. But did you know that the PS turns off over a certain speed, I think it might be 15 mph, so at speed it is not assisting anyways.
This is on a 90-93 Accord.
