well does your engine overheat when the hose isnt hooked up?
tell me if im wrong, but cant you bypass the tb all together with the coolent hoses? i have a D16y7 and i just connected the hoses together instead of running them thru the tb.

Yes you can. But your TB can ice up in cold weather. No, it is not going to cause overheating. Not much coolant flows through it.

You can bypass it if you don't live in a freezing climate but you will also have to block off your FITV with a solid paper gasket or else you will get wildly fluctuating idle.
sorry for jacking the thread. no i dont live in a freezing climate. i live in oregon. my friend and i did it and he said it wouldnt be a problem but i wanted to check and make sure. also my idle hasnt changed at all. what is a FITV?
fitv is your fast idle thermo valve. not an expert but i believe what it does is when you first start your car it keep your idle up until your car warms up
