Default D15b vtec hoses

D15b vtec hoses:

Both the throttle body and intake manifold are basically the same on both the D16z6 and 15b, however on a D15b I have no place to put my back IAC hose. It's supposed to go into the metal piping under the IM, however unlike a D16Z6, the 15B only has one hose which is already in use for the recirculation of the coolant from the top port on the IM.

Where do these hoses go? Because they both use the same sensors on the IM and TB so there should be a spot for the hoses to be run on the D15b without my not having a spot for the IAC hose.

In the pictures, the circle with the arrow indicates the nipple that does not exist on the D15b and in the second picture I cannot even see WTH it is pointing towards.

If you have any help, it's appreciated, thanks.

D16Z6

jdm d15b.

I used the picture as an example due to that one having only one nipple unlike the two that D16z6 has.

The hose circled in the blue goes to the IACV. the other hose on the neck, goes to the water pipe near the valve cover, which intern leads to the FITV (under the Throttle body, controls your idle)

Now what are you trying to do/what is the problem?

Right, but on the D15b, the hose circled in blue does not exist. That port is not there, which is why I attempted to go by the D15 USDM picture, and with it not being exactly as the other. I cannot see where both the hoses go from the IAC in that picture.

To get my all my hoses hooked up. I have an IAC hose that goes to nothing at the moment.

As far as I remember;

On my D15B, I had the hose on the water pipe, to the IACV. The other hose from the IACV to the FITV, and the other end of the FITV to the port on the manifold.

I don't doubt you, but I am looking for something 100% because then how would the coolant from the manifold recirculate from the block?

"There should be a port on the side of the IM connect the FITV in line there, then follow the lines.

Dang, see I don't have a second port on the bypass. The circle orange port on the connecting pipe.

Thanks to all that helped. I'll do a last ditch effort after going to get another thing of coolant, if all else fails my neighbors will post the results of running a wire off the starter and into the gas tank.

I had this on my Y7 block Z6 head recently...I used the coolant pipe from my Z6 block and swapped them out, took 5 minutes and some Hondabond on the O-rings...two nipples!!
T-stat housing is all that's holding it.

ok, so basically you have a jdm d15b with a driver side IACV hose that leads to nowhere, correct?

if the motor is in the car, its very difficult to find it. im sure if you look from underneath its a bit easier. if the motor is out of the car, check to see if the coolant pipe has been changed.

in all the jdm d15b's i've purchased (three), that big coolant pipe running alongside the back of the block all have that little nipple you say isn't there.

i find it hard to believe that the motor would come like that stock. it may have been tampered with, and you might be able to get away with switching it with the z6.

I have a photographic memory-- it came with one port. I also verify that a second time considering I put the Z6 IM on after the engine was already in the car. And this isn't the first time I've swapped, it's the first time I've swapped JDM.

Can anyone confirm whether these all come with an oil cooler/warmer or w/ two ports on them?

from my experience, yes. all three longblocks i've purchased had the hoses already hooked up to the two nipples.

i would venture to say that it has been tampered. once you switch them out there shouldn't be a problem however.

also, the oil cooler i believe was only offered on the d15z1(vx) motor

Thats wrong, since I have owned an OBD1 D15B, it did not have a cooler, BENSE, owns an OBD1 D15B amd that doesn't have a cooler. No USDM D16 had an oil cooler that im aware of.

The only D-Series I have seen that have coolers are JDM DOHC ZC's and USDM D15Z1.

but in the three jdm d15b vtec's i've purchased, i haven't had an oil cooler.

why dont you go to home depot and get a brass fitting T set, mines all together cost ~$20...the T fitting and 3 nipples that need to be screwed in and the white tape to seal it.

just T it off into another coolant hose
