i found a 2000 ITR yellow for sale but it was in a minor accident from the

passenger front-side corner...the hood/fender/bumper needs to be changed

everything else ont he car is pretty clean. But one thing im not sure about since i

don't know about itr's is the engine block code. I heard a B18c5 is a ITR engine.

But on the block of this car says B18c1. The car looks like a real ITR,

wing/rims/lugs/interior/color of the car i check under the carpet and it was yellow

too. Any help would be very appreciated. And how much do you guys think i

should pay for this car in this condition. He said Best offer!

my car is jdm & has a B18C

i think B18C5 is USDM itr & B18C1 is a gsr as pictured below

i don't know if it matter's but the intake manifold didn't look like that it ... it looked like

and the valve cover was red ... don't know if that was any help lol

 

i'm probably not the best person to be answering this as i'm not that familiar with the US market, im sure someone in the know will chime in but has he offered an explanation for the block marked B18C1?as far as i know the skunk IM for B18C1 looks similar to the ITR IM & it'd be easy to put a red valve cover on

that's why im asking all these question's because i want to be sure im buying a real itr not a fake one.. to most these questions might be stupid but to me it's helping me out since i don't know alot about ITR's

 

B18C1 is not type R, if he has'nt warned you that the block had been changed and why then i would stay away

 

B18C1 = GSR motor
B18C5 = ITR motor
B18C = ITR motor (JDM)
B18C6 = ITR motor (some other countries)

as stated above, if the block says B18C1, and the seller didnt tell you it has that motor, STAY AWAY because there is no telling what else is wrong with it, especially since you dont know what to be looking for.

Agreed, if you are absolutely sure the block says "C1", stay away.

 

What is the ASKING PRICE? Did the Seller tell you that the Engine was Not ORIGINAL? Check the VIN... SHould be DC231 somewhere in the code. also check the Door Sill for the Paint Code.

It might Be an RS Painted PY with a GSR Engine... But if the Seller is not disclosing any of this to you then there is probably Much more he is hiding...

 

i would check the vin to be sure........... if its a typeR it will be just like ^^^ said (DC23)......... the 3 after the 2 is a typeR vin


if it does infact have the correct vin (check multiple of them to be sure it hasnt been swapped) then i would see if he admits to having a different block and try to score it for cheap and just swap engines to a C5....... or leave it

ITR VIN- DC231 (make sure it is 31 after the DC2, otherwise it isn't a ITR)

 

b18c1 is GSR, but the intake manifold may be ITR if it arcs the other way. the Body maybe ITR, check for stuff, like VIN first, then look for ITR stuff like rear lower control arms whcih have ball joint arms, um ITR number plate on Arm rest, rear trunk support brace I believe.

 

The body, interior parts, number on the armrest, everything is there. the cluster, the cf trim , the type r seats , shift boot red stiching, taillights, door panels!

Im gona go back on monday, if i get a really good price on it. Ill just buy it and part it out, or put it on another car maybe a eg or ek

 

just check the vin and you wil know
also get pics for us

 

The only way to tell is by vin#. the first 8 characters in a usdm ITR will always read JH4DC231.
