Default 4-wire o2 sensor clearence (srched!!)

Well Yea, Im the one with alll the damn o2 sensor problems (poor rich-running motor). Well I actually got her up on a lift today and took a look at my o2 sensor which is in the bung in the midpipe--right before the cat. WELL, the top of the sensor is scraping up against my intermidiate shaft boot. And, the rotation/heat scraped allll the way through the sensors sheilding and now its a pile of ****. Anyone else have this problem? its a D16A in a 91 dx, should I try and move the bung? or get a new sensor or what?? Thanks

You may want to move the 02 sensor further up the header. Right on one of the runners, like this:

It has a bung right before the cat, and one on a runner. I used the one on the runner, just like stock.

had and fixed that prob ... plug the hole and drill out anotherone in a place where its good for you... drill a hole and weld in a nut with the correct thread for the sensor. took me a half hour and has worked fine since
