Thinking about trading in my 06 NHBP si for a RR,Figi 07 !
I wanted a RR but found my NHBP like last month but i am still iffy about the color and eveyrtime i see a rr on the net i want it so bad. The black is hard to keep clean and shows everything plus i wanted a color that stands out more. I love my si now its so fun but its just the color that gets to me sometimes i love it sometimes i dont i want a color i wont 2cd guess. I only put 2 grand on the car and financed the rest which was like $24,000 i got fog's,hfp lip kit, tax killed me like $2,000 for that damn NY tax. I know i will prob get raped on a trade in but if my payments arent too much more i would love to pick up a rr/navi or a figi/navi i am not even sure if i would want the hfp lip kit again although it does look great. I am going to call my dealer today to discuss this issue today and maybe i can work something out with him there are plenty of 07 si's in ny to choose from so it shouldnt be a prob finding 1 that i want. The car has about 2,500 miles on it which is nothing so wish me Luck Guys.

if i recall you had gotten a horrible deal the first time.
honestly if you do this trade up, with the parts AGAIN, ( which the dealer will have no problem doing)
You'll be so upside down in negative equity that you could have bought an Lotus Elise, and a Fit.
for what you'll be paying for your civic si

I nerver got a bad deal i payed msrp for everything with tax, dealer fees ect, plus the fogs and hfp lip kit i payed about $26,000 thats about right for a si with navi and all that. I got a 8.5 interest rate for 60 months with a 675 credit score that i couldnt help plus i only put $2,000 yea i know it sounds crazy with the trade in but we will see what happen's.

I was thinking about trading in my 06 FBP Si for an 07 GG Si, but I'd probably end up lossing all kinds of money and have to wait months on end for an 07...
GL with your hunting though.

Your credit score was probably 675 before you purchased the Si, but I doubt it is at that after the purchase. I don't think you understand what Type X said. I work with this everyday, and emotions run too high for people to make logical decisions (most of the time). You already have the 06 Si, keep it. At least pay the principal down more. 8.5% int rate is okay, but I doubt you will get that again. Financing and negotiations are the key to every deal.
If you still are going to do this deal. At least break even with the trade-in value and payoff. Do not let them roll-over any balance (Negative Equity).

WILD_WILL, I wish you good luck! I love my RR, but if I had gotten a NHBP I probably would have been just as happy. My personal opinion is that you should be happy with what you have.
And hell, wouldn't it be cheaper to strip and repaint the NHBP professionally to a color you would LOVE than to take the reaming that you are going to get on trade-in? I'd say save up some cash, or dust off that credit card, rather than take the reaming.

I'm with Monkey ConQueso on this one. I know of a few shops in lower Westchester that could paint up your ride pretty tight.......my buddy owning one of the shops.
True, NHBP shows the dust/dirt. After four coats of Ziano, I seems like the dirt just slides right off of my NHBP Si. I drive 80 miles a day and I washed my car two weeks ago and it still looks pretty darn clean......one drive in the rain and she has that freshly washed look. Now if you were bitching about how stone chips stick out like white golf ***** against the black paint, I'd have to agree with you on that one. Oh well, such if life when it comes to a daily driver. The day I picked up my car I walked into the part Dept and picked a bottle of touch-up paint, because I knew that I'd need it

26k, wow... originally i put a deposit on an 06 Fiji Si with Navi / body kit / fogs for $22,900. But since the deal with my evo fell through i had to give it up. My goodness, i would never pay 26k for a civic!!! I think this deal will end up costing you a LOT of $$....
I don't think it's worth it just for a color change. Not to be a dick or anything but you should have known/ thought about it in the first place that black is super hard to keep clean and stuff. Of course it's up to you but it's a lot of money lost just to change the color. You might as well just keep it and get a full color change to whatever color you want. It might even cost less that way.

"Thinking about it" with some people turns into "doing it". Trust me, I've owned 12 vehicles since I started driving, and I'm 31. I was an impulsive buyer and trader - I had to have the next vehicle that screamed OWN ME! About 9 years ago, I would have "thought about it" while "doing it". Talk about irresponsible.
You have the car you love, but the paint job annoys you. Do what racerEX states and coat your car with Ziano (not personally familiar with it, so ask him about it...), or paint it if it annoys you that much.

i agree with him.. i sell these cars all day.. sounds like your getting your *** kicked by dealer fees and poor negociation.. if the Si is so readily available in NY state then there is no way you should be paying msrp for it.. plus you can ALWAYS get your accessories for at lease 10% off if not 15%.. all in all if you need some help with the negociation then PM me.
i would say just buy the si from me and i wouldn't hassle you at my dealership .. but im in missouri so it makes it a little more complicated. lol

that was the price...i wish i still had my price sheet...i'm not saying that was sticker price, but that's the price i worked out with them. Unfortunately, when i finally had my evo sold they didnt have any Si's nor were they getting any in any colors that interested me. I ended up getting my car for 200 under sticker since there were barely any left in the area...and i had to wait 2mo for it to be built!
They also had a full HFP Si (Fiji blue / body kit / fogs / 18" wheels / HFP suspension / HFP exhaust for $23,900 -- nobody wanted it.
This dealer was Balise Honda in springfield mass.

balise is a great dealer...they never upcharge and will sell near invoice...they just want to turn over cars. The reason the HFP car was so cheap is that nobody wanted it with all those parts...sticker was near 27k.

and i'm looking at S2k's
luckily i pick vehicles that dont depreciate (honda/acura) so i dont get clobbered

Good luck finding a used S2k that isn't beaten up and is under KBB
Almost every single vehicle I bought and traded in I either broke even on loan or went +/- $1K - except for the 2 1990-91 Audi Coupe Quattro's that I bought - talk about a loss! But damn, I loved those cars.

At least go through a Fleet/ Internet manager or broker if you do this. They can give or find you the best deals. Make sure you pre-order. That way at least you can somewhat pick what goes on it. In addition, your state may give you a tax credit off the car if you do the trade-in. Check with a honest dealer in your area.
It's hard to be patient when you want something really bad.
I waited close to a year and built up my credit score as much as possible before buying this Si.

I got dibs on your rims if you sell your Si.
