Default Temp needle acting funny on my stock 90 crx dx (help needed)

Ok so my temp guage sarted acting funny yesterday on my 90crx dx totally stock. After driving like 50 miles my temp guage was on cold and would very slowly rise back up to below halfway (never has been at halfway) at stops then go back down upon acceleration and yes it was semi cold out yesterday morning here in Va, so I was like ok let me check my thermostat and low and behold yes it was in a stuck open position so I replaced the thermostat and now yes it seems to not quite drop all the way but still just doesnt sit at any 1 spot and stay there. so my question is what could the options be to solve the issue and or does it have to do with the full size radiator and just being a little cold out as it was only like 40 degrees this morning? could it be air trapped in the system? or what else could it be this car is new I got it in the summer so never really noticed any issues until the colder weather started the heat in the car is great now that replaced the thermostat.

Thanx any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

bleed the air out of the system...thats most likely your problem

Thats what it sounds like. There is a 10mm bleeder at the block. Crack open and squeeze the top hose until only antifreeze comes out. Real easy.

yea I cracked open the bleed screw yesterday after I ended up adding water to it to top it off I guess I will just drain out the old and just redo the whole system and see what happens

seems wierd that a alternator prob would cause this issue though

Could be that your temp. sending gauge is malfunctioning as well, I had the exact same problem and that was the culprit.
