Default New Paint, How Long To Wait?

I wasn't sure where to put this, being as it is a tech question, so I didn't figure A/C was the best option....

Anyways:

I have a brand new painted bumper. Winter is coming, and winter here is wet/dirty ... so I need to know a few things and keep getting mixed responses.

How long should I wait to:

A) Wash normally
B) Glaze
C) Polish
D) Wax

I'm a pretty experienced hand detailer, but I don't ever deal with fresh paint.

TIA

I know it's more than a week or two, especially in cold weather. I'm just looking for some solid guidelines.

The painters at my work told me that paint takes about a month to completley set up. But we buff our paint jobs right away, so go ahead and wax away..

Not possible. I work 5 days a week, and drive 30 miles each way.

rule of thumb is at LEAST 60 days to was, due to the carnbia(sp) in the wax. Hand wash, not pressure wash....the next day if you want. I wouldnt use any kind of wax, polish, or glaze for at least 60 days...like i said no pressure washing, make SURE not to gfet degreaser on it....and you can drive all you want, it doesnt do anything. rockchips maybe, but that will happen no matter how fresh the paint. Just dont hit VTEC....paint migh tstart to peel. lol

drive with ur bumper off for a month, let it chill in the garage or something...if the sun comes out, set it out in the sun. yeah you might look like ur a stupid driver that rear ended someone but who cares what people think..u choose. is it what people think about your car, or your precious ek bumper. i'd wait 2 months if i had to to put it back on to be honest.

I just talked to my painter, and he informed me that he did bake it, so I'm not going to have to wait like 30-60 days. I'll probably wait at least 60 days to wax, but I might glaze after a good wash. Thankfully glaze breathes, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Any more responses would be great.

im in the same situation here, but its my wheels. And im starting to see some small spot chipping off due to rocks and ****.

Is there any kinda wax or something i could put on it, for extra durability? they were painted about a month ago? Maybe like a thick clear shell of some sort. Could i put wax on the wheels for extra durability? or will this just induce chipping from rocks and pebles?

Eran i put wax on my bumper when i 1st painted it about 5 days later, so far the paint on my front bumper is lasting longer than anything i have everpainted, for some reason it WILL not chip off, and i used the rattle can.

Rattle and spraygun use different paint, and need to be treated different ways

For your wheels, use Wheel Wax. (www.wheelwax.com)
