Default is it possible to have this tranny...?

I got a 2k accord EX V6 4AT and i would want to convert it to 5AT, because the stock tranny is... hum.. like a hot sausage... it's not tough at all...

So i asked on other forums, and ive been told that b w/ b, d w/ d, f w/ f ..... what about J with J?

My engine is a J30A1 and i would like to have the automatic transmission (5spd instead of 4) of a J30A5 (2007 Accord's)

Will it fit, bolt-on? Because the two ones are J's, but someone said that it won't work.. Did someone do it?

It will fit butmaking it work may be the hard part. The 6spd swaps have been done before but not really with the 5at mainly because its a auto. There was one guy on here who did the swap with a CL tranny but he also used the Cl engine.

You'll need the computer to make it all work. If you do get the ecu you'll need to convince the dealer to make a key for you to match the ECU so it'll all run and start.

THese new car nowadays are so complicated!

EDIT* I could be totally all wrong.

lol i knew that.. about the computer (who will shift etc..) and the shifter... but the question is... will it fit? i mean.. bolt-on?

Because the two engines are J30A*, so I guess it's the same base etc...

PS: Excuse my english, and correct me if i'm wrong on something, because i'm french ^^

5at trans will NOT fit..... and it will NOT work in any car with a 4spd auto unless you swap the ENTIRE DRIVE LINE AND ECU/TCU. You will not get a 5at to work with the j30a....

I know i have to change the computer and ECU, but once this will be done, will it work? I don't really care about the electronics, but about the mechanical fittings... Do i have tu make customised pieces to make it fit on a J30A1 ?

What you are asking is if the bell housing will fit up. I think it will but I am not 100% sure.

j30 used in 7th gen accords is about 1/2 in shorter so it is not likely that trans will make up unless they kept the mounting ponts the same......
