Default NEW to the OLD school...

NEW PICS!!!

here are a few more new pics after a slight bath, using Mohers 'back to black' stuff, and the new wheels (hate on if you wish, but for 200 and my ugly si's, I couldnt pass them up!)

Yes, the tach has a point unfortunatly...It came with the car b/c it needs a new cluster

The only piece of rust I have found. (Corner of sunroof. Notice, its no bigger then the end of my index finger)

x1239834984023 The header clearance sucks and I dont know why. It sits so low...any ideas of whats up?? No worries though.............................

.................................................. .................................................. ...................

... here is whats taking the place of the bashed in header...

JDM ITR 4-1 header with a fastline skid plate (Got one HELL of a deal on it )

And one more for the hell of it

Whats going on everyone one. I hope its cool to post this in here, if not, mods can delete.

I just wanted to introduce myself to the EF board. I recently picked up my latest project, a 1988 CRX si. Ive had a 96ej, a 92 hatch with a boosted b16, a 93 del sol with a boosted b16, a 94 teg with a built GSR, and another 94 Del Sol with just about every JDM piece that was offered on it haha. Im really excited about the CRX. I wanted to start auto-xing and doing track days at VIR and/or Road Atlanta, and thought a CRX would be a great platform to start with. Plus it was the silver I was looking for, with ZERO rust anywhere, and with a very clean interior (minus the seats)

My plans are to get the car 'weekend warrior' ready for track days, while keeping it simple enough to keep and use as my DD as well.

<U>Here are some of the specs of the car:</U>
99 B16a2 with cable B16 trans
Converted to obd1
CTR pistons
CTR cams
AEM cam gears (3 bolt )
Complete MSD ignition setup
Relocated battery to the rear
Full Skunk2 catback exhaust
? 4-1 header
Tokico blues all around
? no name coilovers
99 Si wheels

<U>My plans:</U>
Rebuild the B16 (top to bottom, nothing untouched)
Rebuild the tranny and add LSD
Either a Kirk racing or auto power rollbar
Bucket seat (Bride or something FIA approved)
Rear disc swap
Function 7 LCA's
Full coilover setup
etc...

Enough with the talk, on with some crappy, low lighted pictures of my POS as of right now:

If anyone has any suggestions on setups along the lines of what I plan on doing, please feel free to tell me.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks eveyone.

Yea, the pics dont show it for what it really is. I mean, its still clean as expletive, but it needs a good repaint, the weather stripping needs to be replaced, new wheels, and a few other little things before shes a real looker.

Ive thought about doing the JDM front on it, but it keeps crossing my mind that if Ill be tracking it, I wouldnt want to mess it up. Plus, that money can go toward something performance wise which is always a better idea anyway haha. So Ive thought about just getting the USDM 90-91 front bumper to make it a little more appealing.

I kinda know what Im doing. Im no OG haha, and this is way out of my relm. Ive always been turbo and straight line fast, and now Im going completely oppsite haha. So it will be different, but I look very much foward to learning new things and giving this a shot.

Its an 88. 90-91 came with the rear discs stock. 88-89 si's still had drums

EDIT: SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE BEAT ME TO IT LOL

~Thanks STREETWERKS and crazykamper I will def keep people posted as the project progresses!

~Bag, I plan on it! haha. I really dont trust that mess either, so once I start the rebuild, it will be gone

~B6tizzleHatch, Im the same way. I miss the sol for the targa, the power options, and how clean mine was. But Ive always been about function &gt; form, and I kinda strayed away from it last time b/c I wanted simple DD. Now I want to go back to where I started and have fun with my cars and not worry so much on how many "uber rare JDM hottness" things I can buy haha.

Thanks again everyone.

Anyone have some good facts between the Autopower rollbars vs. Kirk Racing? Im at a toss up and cant decide...

Thanks!

Yea, Ive heard a few things, but Im still looking for more. Ive heard that the kirk racing ones allow more flex then the autopower ones due to the placement in the rear being back on the frame. Also, Ive heard on some accounts the the Autopower ones dont fit 100% correct and are a PITA to mount (Im sure no matter which it is, its not going to be that easy). I dunno, Im just looking for more facts on both if possible.

Thanks WillieWillieFast, dynamitezz, and Contender25 And dont worry, the silver is here to stay. I  silver rexs! lol

I don't know what you are looking for but you live in NC. Racing capital of the world there are several guys around that would make you a custom build, more solid cage than a bolt in. Just and idea. If you need some names let me know.

Are you looking for 4pt, 6pt or 8pt?

Yea, Ive thought about that aswell. Ive seen you post some before. I believe your last post was showing you racing somewhere in rockingham, Im only about 10 min away from there. I live in Aberdeen I was meaning to PM you about when and where that was b/c I def want to go wherever you were at!

Some names would be great actually. Im looking for a 6 perferably. Something great for track use, but not too crazy for the street as it will be my DD as well.
