i have a zc engine. i start the car and then slowly starts to stall and dies down. i put in another used alternator and it ran for a while and then died again. is it the alternator? any way to check voltage drop on it or w/e ? anything else that could cause this.

Get a multimeter and mesure voltage at the battery while the car is running.

14.3v is optimum

 

ok i checked the battery while it was off and it was around 11v. then when the car turned on it went to 10v. and then turned lights on and stuff and it went to 9.

okie well i got the alternator checked and its fine. the battery wasnt getting charged. theres another thing i was looking at. the positive terminal was touching the intake (metal part) so im thinking it messed up the battery?

 

not good man, when i had my ebay special intake on my old crx i just taped the piping up with electrical tape any where near the battery, at least so it wouldn't touch, but that was about 5 years ago now.
