Default anybody done Auto Trans "flush" on 6th gen and is still working ?

anyone out there with a 6th gen(1999) auto transmission who has done a full flush on this transmission and is still working?!

I am debating whether to flush it or not and want to know how to much truth there is to "flushing will break the transmission". I know the V6 are at a higher risk but this is for a 4 bore.
Car has 89k on it and have done regular drain and refills all along. Can't seem to judge by the color of the fluid. Looks good on the dipstick but in a container looks kinda dark.
Have been experiencing a hard downshift into first gear for a long time now, which has NOT worsened. Sometimes seems to improve after I add or drain+refill the ATF to the max level.

Ive had the same problem in my 4th gen, But i never did a flush, all ive done was got a transmisson cleaner from advanced auto parts, ran the cleaner, drained it, FIlled it with, 2 Lucas transmisson fixes and then filled the rest with dex., helped out a hell of a lot

never use cleaner, never use additive, never power flush.

cleaner could break loose stucked valve, but it's very harmful to seal/gasket.

read the manual

ture.. i reather pay for a new gasket then a rebuild. This guy quote me only 200 for a new gasket to the tranny and block. Its been leaking since the last rebuild at 99,739. now its 149,000 and still running strong with tranny cooler,Lucas stuff aswell the non-oem atf.

I used to have a 4 cyl 98 Accord LX with auto. I put a lot of hard miles on it and for one period of time the transmission fluid was looking pretty gritty, even after a traditional drain and refill.

I took it to one of the chains and had them do the flush on it. I was a little weary, but the transmission lasted another 50,000 miles before I traded it in (150 K total). I wouldn't recommend doing it, however.

Almost all Accords 98-02 have the extended warranty on the automatic transmissions. Just post your VIN and I could look it up for you. Or just go to the nearest Honda dealer and ask to do a VIN inquiry on your vehicle, it's free.

As for flushing transmissions, you don't flush Honda automatic transmissions, period.
