You can do some trimming or you can do it right. The correct way to put a coupe/hatch bumper on a sedan would be to get the proper fenders and corner lamps (from a coupe/hatch) so that you don't have to deal with large gaps.

that's weird, a buddy of mines did a coupe front bumper on his sedan without any modding...fits right in...same for the headlights...he got some one piece headlights for his sedan from a hatch. fits on too...you sure they are different? weird
