REMOVAL OF OUTER DOOR SKIN ON 06 SI
I RECENTLY GOT HIT ON MY PASSENGER DOOR AT MY SCHOOL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO COUNTLESS COLLISION CENTERS AND ALL ARE GIVING ME A PRICE TAG OF OVER $1200. IM TRYING TO DO THIS A CHEAPER WAY, SO I ORDERED AN OUTER DOOR SKIN FROM HONDA AND IM OING TO PUT IT ON MY SELF. MY QUESTION IS HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS? THIS I RUN INTO PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOW? ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
i dont think it would be too easy finding a door at a junkyard. if he did find one he would be charged out the *** for the rarity of the door, plus he allready said he had the door skin my suggestion is since you have the door skin take the door off, take off the door panel, take out the glass, pretty much break the door down as much as possible then take it to a few b-shops and get some quotes doing a door skin shouldnt take more than a few hours to do the actuall swap then about 2-3 hours to paint just the door, but since you have the galaxy grey it is a hard color to match so they would need to blend into the fender and the qurter panel. If you are just looking to have the door done that way of breaking the door down yourself would be the cheapest hope this helped

Why not make the person who hit you pay for it? Unless it was a hit and run of course.
Also, I'm unsure as to why you would even buy a door panel from Honda if you have NO idea how to take the old one off let alone fuse the new one back on.

I have seen this done many times. It is pretty difficult to do, thats why experienced body repairmen do it. Thats why it costs $1200.
There is a right way and a cheap way. Good luck.
What about insurance?

Maybe with a cold air intake install... but fusing a door panel on to a door shell on a brand new car is NOT something you can just 'learn by doing'....
not rocket science but unless you've got some experience with body work its not going to be pretty.
Good luck though buddy
