Does vtec always kick in wether your accelerating slow or fast? The reason I ask is because my friend was driving it slow and got to the rpm vtec should have kicked in at, but it didnt kick in. Then I drove it, harder...more acceleration and it kicked in fine. Is that normal guys? Is the computer just good like that or what?

Nah dude, he was at 6000rpm, first gear, but accelerating slow to get there, when i drove it, i accelerated harder and got there a whole lot faster and it kicked in....also it happens in every gear for him.... 1st, 2nd etc. but he was acclerating really slow...please guys, help
why would you want it to kick in when your accelerating slowly?
just a waste of gas if your not doing anything with it
its good in my opinion

If your car is OBD0 then it should kick in as OBD0 equpped cars do not have Electronic detectors. OBD1 and higher do so they can sense when the car is under load. I'm pretty sure this is the reason. No idea why the car won't vtec in neutral, maybe the computer senses that for the amount of throttle given the revs are spooling up to fast?

Indeed, it does not. My typing of 'VTACK' was for purely phonetic reasons. This was an attempt to mimic the way in which an extremely moronic, thugged-out, rap-listening retard would yell, gleefully, "vtec".
