Default My Last Day at the Track for 2006

I took the R out to Pueblo Motorsport Park yesterday for a full open track day. What an incredible rush the R gives me every time I put it in its element. The weather was fairly nice and so there were maybe 11 cars there total - mostly Porsches and Corvettes. I took the day to concentrate on lines (of course) and corner exit speed.

I decided at one point to run an extra long session - I stayed on track for close to an hour to see how the car and myself would handle it, learn what the car/tires feel like after a longer run, and work on maintaining concentration. I'm telling you, after awhile you just get into a zone and you don't even realize waht you are doing. I was the fastest car on the track all day.

After the long run (and passing everybody) nearly all of thw Porsche/Corvette guys walk over and start talking with me... something like this:

"Nice car. So, you have a turbo or supercharger in there?"
"No, all motor."
"Oh, so what is that in there?"
"1.8 4 cylinder"
"Well, great driving then..."

It was a great day. Only prroblem was a loose distributor belt by the end of the day and a set of Toyos that I need to replace.

Seems like you had an awesome track day. So what mods do you have anyways? Just really curious...

Great job Jonathan. I understand about the whole "zoned" out thing. LOL Anyways, great job and hope to see you at Expo. Hell man, you need to stop over in Dallas and we can ride from there.

Great to hear you're out there enjoying yourself Jonathan . Hope you didn't need to actually "use" the new tow hooks .

I love getting in the ZONE on the track. I pulled a 45minute session in Seattle earlier this year. I loved it but my street tires didn't .

It's amazing to realize how much of a factor "good" driving plays when you're out there with high power cars.

Any pics?

Too many to list here, but highlights include TODA spec A cams, TODA Fightex coilovers, Spoon header, Fujitsubo exhaust... and of course all the safety things (rollbar, harness, seats, etc.)
