v6 to a h22?
ive always wondered this...ok my friend has a 5gen V6...and its horribly slow...and i was thinking if he could throw in a h22? i know it wouldnt be a direct fit but with a lil fabercation do you think it would fit? and im sure for him $$ isnt a problem..and comments questions or concerns would be happily welcomed
it can be done but you will need to weld new motor mounts and will require some fabrication. i've seen it done at a local import shop but just remember that its not easy as swapping from a f22(4 cyl) to the h22. v6->i4 needs work.

A local shop tried that here and was successful. Motor mounts are not really the biggest haedache. The wiring part was the most difficult part. If he does this route I would suggest him to get a second car. It took a good 2-3 months to wire it up correctly and working the way it should. But overall is doable.
PS. It looked a lil weird since the V6 had lots more room in the bay... Great for that turbo install!!

it can be done but why?
the six has more torque potential, it would be an absolute waste to swap the 6 out, there have been MANY threads discussing this

why not do a auto-manual conversion???? That would be the best bang for the buck on that motor and the manual transmission should not cost you too much.

Take the money you would spend doing the H22 and the auto-manual conversion, and the fabrication, and spend it with Level 10 getting yout tranny built. Then use the rest to strat a build up on the motor.

the tranny swap is a problem, leaks fluid and just is an overall headache

weird I would think since the transmission was built for that motor it would go on without a flaw what-so-ever. It is definatly weird in my book why it does not.
ok well first off...this isnt my car..its a friends...and we were just talkin about it...and i wondered if it could happen...plus there isnt alot of support for the 5gen v6'ers...or is there...i dont pay attn to that part
